Former Bihar Chief Minister, Karpoori Thakur, has been posthumously honored with the Bharat Ratna

Born in January 1924, Karpoori Thakur emerged as a prominent figure in Bihar’s political landscape. He held the position of Bihar’s Chief Minister twice, first from December 1970 to June 1971 and later from December 1977 to April 1979.
