Bihar to Recruit Around 46,000 Teachers in Major State Hiring Drive Starting March 2026

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is all set to launch a large-scale teacher recruitment drive under the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4), offering around 46,000 government teaching jobs across the state. The official notification and application process are expected to begin in March 2026, bringing a major opportunity for aspiring educators in Bihar.

In recent developments, the General Administration Department of Bihar has forwarded a requisition to the BPSC seeking approvals to fill teacher vacancies across different departments, including the Education Department and welfare departments responsible for scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, backward classes and extremely backward classes. Once the commission receives the approval, it will issue the detailed recruitment notification on its official website.

According to state officials, the recruitment will cover posts from primary schools (Classes 1-5) to secondary and senior secondary schools (Classes 9-12). The largest share of vacancies is expected in secondary and higher secondary education, but significant numbers will also be allocated for primary and middle school teachers. The total number of posts across all departments is estimated to be close to 45,000-46,000.

Prospective candidates are advised to prepare their documents and educational certificates ahead of the application window, as the notification—when released—will include detailed eligibility criteria, post-wise vacancy distribution and instructions on the online application process.

The upcoming TRE-4 recruitment drive is part of the Bihar government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the state’s education sector by filling long-pending teaching vacancies in government schools. The move has generated considerable interest among job seekers, and many are eagerly awaiting the formal announcement.
