Bihar is set to celebrate Christmas and year-end under the grip of a persistent cold wave, with the Meteorological Centre, Patna, making it clear that there will be no major relief from the chill till at least 29 December. Despite some sunshine returning to parts of the state, icy westerly winds continue to keep people shivering and “cold day” conditions in place across many districts.

According to the latest update, cold north-westerly/pachhua winds have intensified the feeling of chill in Patna and surrounding districts. Although clear skies allowed sunlight to break through on Wednesday, the wind prevented temperatures from rising enough to give real comfort.
