Veteran Folk Singer Jang Bahadur Singh Honoured with ‘Son of Siwan, Pride of Bihar’ Award

Siwan, Bihar: Legendary Bhojpuri folk singer and freedom-era cultural icon Jang Bahadur Singh was recently bestowed with the prestigious “Son of Siwan, Pride of Bihar” award in a special ceremony held on the occasion of the birth anniversary of India’s first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. The honour was presented to him by the former President of Mauritius, Prithviraj Singh Roopun, in a dignified event that celebrated Singh’s lifetime of artistic and patriotic contributions. Born on 10 December 1920 in Kausar village of the Raghunathpur block in Siwan district, Jang Bahadur Singh devoted his early life to singing and inspiring people through his powerful folk music.
