Siwan: Dandiya Night – Today marks the second day of Sharadiya Navratri, and a special puja is being conducted in the form of Maa Brahmacharini. In Siwan, Bihar, the city is buzzing with the rapid practice of Dandiya as Navratri gains momentum. Dandiya and Garba hold a special significance during Navratri.
Dandiya and Garba are currently sparking immense enthusiasm among women and young girls. Consequently, special workshop sessions have commenced in the city. Young women are dedicating hours during the day to practice Dandiya rigorously. The city is gearing up for Sevan Dandiya Mahotsav on the seventh day of Navratri, which falls on October 21, with intense preparations and practices underway.
To make this Dandiya festival special, Bhojpuri actress Pallavi Giri will also be participating. She has appealed to people to join in the festivities. Dance choreographers are teaching women and young girls the dance steps in a simple and slightly unique way.
This is being done to ensure that no one faces any inconvenience due to their attire during the Dandiya dance. The organizers are putting in a lot of effort to make this festival a success so that, like in major cities, women and girls in Siwan can celebrate Dandiya like a grand festival.
Let it be known that today is the second day of Navratri. On this day, the worship of Maa Brahmacharini is performed. Goddess Brahmacharini is adorned in white attire, holding an eight-lotus mala in her right hand and a kamandal in her left. According to mythological tales, Maa Brahmacharini underwent severe penance to attain Lord Shiva as her husband. This is why she is known as Tapashcharini or Brahmacharini. It is believed that by performing the worship and rituals dedicated to Maa Brahmacharini, one can attain various spiritual achievements.
